Guidelines
Here you can find instructions on how to report ATP contributions.
You must contact ATP Livslang Pension if you need to change a report.
If you have hired an employee from abroad, it is your obligation to ensure that the employee in question has a Danish civil registration number.
If the employee does not have a registered address in Denmark, you must apply for a so-called administrative civil registration number.
If you have applied for an administrative civil registration number from the Danish Tax Agency, you must not apply for an administrative civil registration number from ATP Livslang Pension - and vice versa.
If ATP Livslang Pension is to create an administrative civil registration number, you must send a request via ‘Send a message to ATP Livslang Pension’ (see link below). Attach a copy of the employee’s passport or national ID card with photo ID and information on the employee’s address (for example, a copy of the page in the employment contract where the employee’s address is stated).
There may be special rules when you hire employee from abroad or if they will be working abroad.
The EU rules on social security
If you have employees who work in Denmark, you must pay ATP contributions for the employee unless the employee in question is covered by social security in another country. The ATP legislation is part of the Danish legislation on social security. The rules of the ATP legislation apply unless superseded by international rules on social security. The EU rules in effect at any given time on social security have an impact on what needs to be paid in ATP contributions in a specific employment.
The EU rules coordinate the use of legislation on social security for individuals moving within the EEA area and Switzerland. In these rules, it is a fundamental principle that an individual can only be covered by one member state’s legislation on social security at a time.
You can read more about the rules on the official homepage of the European Union at Europa.eu.
If you disagree with ATP Livslang Pension’s decision, you can contact ATP’s board of appeal, etc. You must contact the board of appeal within four weeks of having received the decision from.
