We process your personal data for the following purposes:
DEMA processes personal data to assess credit transfer for acquired relevant professional skills when these skills have been acquired outside Denmark. The basis in law for our processing your personal data:
The legal basis for the right of The Danish Emergency Agency to process personal data as it pertains to education is a legal obligation , cf. General Data Protection Regulation, article 6, section 1, subsection c. (Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject ). The key component of the Danish Emergency Agency is the mission to ensure efficient rescue services and likewise to ensure that the educational standard of these meets the requirements of fulfilling that mission, cf. The Danish Preparedness Act (no. 314, 03/04/2017) §§ 1 and 48 and chapter 5 of The Executive Order on Rescue Service Employees.
Processing, including registration and exchange of personal data in the IMI system, is based on the legal obligation og authorities in EU countries to exchange mutual aid as stated in the IMI Regulation article 3 and preambel no. 1 and 21 and Directive on Transfer of Merit Based on Qualifications (2005/36/EF/07.sept/2005)
We process the following categories of personal data about you:
In matters relating to assessment of professional skills credit DEMA is restricted only to process general personal details, such as name, date of birth, nationality, relevant professional experience and as exam scores.
We share your personal data or make it available to the following recipients:
It may be necessary to exchange your personal data between relevant authorities within the Danish Ministry of Defence.
Your personal data may also be shared in accordance with a legal obligation to give access to state authorities at their request.
We do not transfer personal data to recipients outside the EU and the EEA.
Your personal data is the same as the information given by you on your application for credit assessment.
We storage your Personal data in the IMI system, where your data is no longer accessible 6 months after the case has been closed. All personal data is deleted 3 years after your case has been formally closed, cf. Article 14 of the IMI Regulation.
An Assessment for credit transfer case is filed in Work Zone, which is DEMA’s electronic filing system for handling documents. In accordance with state law as well as Danish filing regulations all data stored in WorkZone is handed over to The National Archive.

Right to access
You have the right to obtain access to the data we process concerning you, as well as other data.
Right to rectification (correction)
You have the right to have incorrect data concerning you be rectified.
Right to erase
In special cases you have the right to have data concerning you erased before the time of our ordinary general erasure process.
Right to restriction of processing
In certain cases you have the right to restrict the extent to which we process your personal data. If you have the right to restrict processing, we will henceforth only process information with your consent – with the exception of storage – or if a legal claim can be established, exercised or defended, or to protect persons or important public interests.
Right to object
In certain cases you have the right to object to our processing of your personal data.
Right to transmit data (data portability)
In certain cases you are entitled to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to have this personal data transmitted from one data controller to another without hindrance.
